music influence essays
music influence essays I believe that it is the music of our time that will be remembered long after we are gone, and it is bands like Oasis that led the revolution which took place recently. Oasis, headed by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher was the first band after The Beatles to lash out against what had become the normal way a band should be, and that is why they will be known for years to come as the band who changed rock music. Noel Gallagher was born on May 29, 1967 in Manchester, he was the second son of Thomas and Margaret Gallagher. Thomas, Tommy to the boys at the pub, was a construction worker. He and his wife, known to her pals as Peggy, resided in the working-class Manchester suburb called Burnage with their first boy, Paul. "God was playing a joke when He made me," Noel Gallagher once said. "You know, 'Let's make this guy a writer and a guitar player, but let's make him write with his left hand but play with his right, and let's have him born in the middle of May and give him a Christmas name like Noel. Little did Noel know that when he grew up he was to become the frontman of one of the most influential rock bands in music history at a time when music was the most influential form of speech on the planet. Little Liam arrived in the Gallagher household five years later, on September 21, 1972. He and Noel were forced to share a bedroom, something that always bothered Noel to no end, seeing how Paul, just a year-and-a-half older than him, had his own room. But Liam and Noel made the best of it, and the bedroom saw the beginnings of the somewhat loving, often heated relationship between the brothers. The boys kept a running record of their childhood by scrawling on their wall, later described by Tommy as their "wonderwall", later to become the title of one of their biggest selling singles. Bits of songs, poems, favourite bands, football teams and the like were all immortalised on their bedro...

Strategy processes Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 2500 words
Strategy processes - Essay Example 2.0 Globalisation In the context of this discussion, globalization plays an important role in the way a company strategise its policies to sustain their business presence. Globalisation has opened up numerous possible avenues for large and mid-sized companies to promote their products and services abroad. This directly enhances their market value and contributes to their economic might. In such cases, the time-tested strategy of rational and deliberate policies remains, and their products receive further boost through unknown territorial clientele. The governments of the once reclusive economies of Asia; China and India opened their skies to transfer of technology and co-production. Many of the heavy-machinery manufacturers and automotive industries were able to benefit immensely through co-productions and tie-ups. Government subsidies, cheap labour, qualified personnel and abundant raw material supplies generated huge volumes of profits and that too by retaining their strategy of being rational and deliberate. However, with time comes monotony and weariness. The strategy process has to be reassessed and changes brought about. Changes are perennial and so too are strategic processes. 3.0 Strategy Processes The strategy process is quite intriguing, yet exhilarating. Every company has its share of researchers who respond to the strategy process challenge by identifying certain traits that can either bring moments of exhilaration or disillusion. Disillusion comes from the often grotesque outcome of their effort leading to an outcome that is far from impressive. A lot of empirical research goes into the strategy process; large, often heroic and distinctive, collection of data is required to explore the possibility of... Though there are many players in the mobile telecommunication industry worldwide, the major names that one comes across in daily life are quite a handful. This is so, because of the strong marketing and services offered by these companies. Companies such as Alcatel, Ericsson, Fujitsu Microelectronics, Intel Corporation, Nokia, LG, Sony Ericsson, Motorola, Siemens, Samsung, Sun Microsystems, Panasonic, Mitsubishi Electric, Sprint, Nextel, AT & T Wireless, and Vodafone are well known and accepted brands. They have done extremely well all around the world with their branded mobile phones. However, there is no doubt, that without proper strategy process, most of these companies would find themselves in the same boat. There are no fixed love for a particular brand of handsets anywhere in the world, and definitely not so much in Europe, where mobile phone brands varies tremendously. The same is the case with the people of one continent with another. In general, Nokia is much better known and respected in Europe. Motorola dominates the handset numbers in the US. There is of course the interests of national players in mind, the likes of champions like Siemens, which is heavily respected in Germany. Samsung's brand awareness has been steadily rising in both the US and Europe, and LG is trying to make an impression on similar lines. So how do these companies sustain their market share? By being creative and emergent, of course!

Business planning Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 words
Business planning - Essay Example For formation of a successful business plan all the internal key players of the organization should be involved. Their suggestions and ideas should be valued by the top level management and the business headââ¬â¢ as they are more involved in the on field tasks and can give an insight of on field operations. Also all the core components of the business i.e. all the departments of the business should be actively involved in the business process of planning as they specialize in their respective departments. They know what their strengths and weaknesses are and through this the business can extract its strengths and weaknesses as a whole. By consulting and getting a vote of majority on which goals and objectives to pursue the business functions as a whole and the departments will make efforts for achievement of these goals and objectives later on in the execution stage as they were involved in the planning process and their opinions and suggestions were valued. As most of the busines s plans in the industry which have been successful had the inclusion of the internal stakeholders of the business in the planning process this indicates that the claim made by Stutley was quite true in the sense that if in the start all the internal key players of business from the start are involved in the business activities , this makes a sense of ownership and loyalty prevail amongst the members of the organization and each player feels as an important member of the business hence working for the good of business is taken up as a responsibility by the members of the organization which is quite necessary for business to expand and succeed. A business plan in simple words can be stated as those set of activities or the line of action which is needed to be followed or taken by an organization or a corporation to identify its goals and objectives. It can be termed as the backbone of firmââ¬â¢s business i.e. it guides the company or the organization to the right path so as to adhe re to its vision and stay put on its mission along with catering to the organizationââ¬â¢s need for arrangement of resources and have certain contingency measures available at all times in case of problems and troublesome situations. For many people there is a certain misconception that a business plan is formed only while starting the business as it indentifies the short and long term objectives the business wants to achieve over a period of time. That is a structured presentation of business goals and objectives, along with the inclusion of financial statements through which business can approach investors for investments and loans. But in reality a business plan is a framework for running the business and according to certain situations or scenarios faced , the plan can be changed and new additions or modifications can be made in the original plan later on in to business. Not everything can be included in the business plan from the start as you cannot perfectly predict how muc h investment and resources will be required and how will the market trends change or shift from time to

Teaching Young Students Essay -- Education, Language, Music
Preschool, kindergarten, and first grade are essential years in childrenââ¬â¢s life for learning how to read and understanding the basic fundamentals of language arts. Some of these concepts include letter recognition, sight word recognition, capitalization, punctuation, and reading fluency. Everything that children learn during these important years will follow them the rest of their lives. Reading and writing must start with the very basics of letter identification and then progress to writing and reading words and sentences. It is important for children to have a positive learning experience because reading is a very important skill that will continually be needed in everyday life. Whole language and balanced literacy are two commonly used methods for teaching language arts to beginning students. There are many activities used to teach young children how to read and write including the use of music in the classroom, sight words, games, and worksheets. There are two main approaches to teaching reading to young students. One common approach is whole language. Kate Walsh states that whole language ââ¬Å"emphasizes connecting children with meaningful text as the preferred path to developing fluent readersâ⬠(10). In whole language, using the context of the sentence to figure out a word is essential. Walsh further explains the importance of context cluing in whole language by describing it as ââ¬Å"having children identify new words by discerning their meaning in the context of the textâ⬠(10). Another approach to teaching reading is balanced literacy which, unlike whole language, ââ¬Å"fuses the literature-based approach with some phonological instruction but only on an ââ¬Å"as neededâ⬠basisâ⬠(Walsh, Glaser, Dunne 10). Mixing these two conc... ... the student must understand the difference between an uppercase and lowercase letter and when to use them in different situations. Independent exercises are important in the learning process for children because it makes them feel like they have accomplished something on their own, and they show what the child truly knows. There are many different approaches to teaching language arts to young learners. It is important to understand that every classroom and every child is different. Different activities and methods should be used with different children and different situations. Learning the basics of language arts will follow with children throughout their years of schooling and throughout their life. Learning how to read and write for a young student should be a positive and fun experience. Through different methods, many teachers have made learning fun!

My last farewell Essay
My Last Farewell (Mi Ultimo Adios) Farewell, dear fatherland, clime the sun caressââ¬â¢d, Peal of the Orient seas, our Eden lost! Gladly now I go to give thee this faded lifeââ¬â¢s best, And were it brighter, fresher, or more blest, Still would I give three, not count the cost. On the field of battle, ââ¬Ëmid the frenzy of fight, Others have given their lives, without doubt or beed; The place not mattersââ¬âcypress or laurel or lily white, Scafold or open plain, combat or martyrdomââ¬â¢s plight, ââ¬ËTis ever the same, to serve our home and countryââ¬â¢s need. I die just when I see the dawn break Though the gloom of night, to herald the day; And if color is lacking my blood thy shalt take, Pourââ¬â¢d out at need for they dear sake, To dye with its crimson the waking ray. My dreams, when life first opened to me, My dreams when the hopes of youth beat high, Were to see thy lovââ¬â¢d face, O gem of the Orient sea, From gloom and grief, from care and sorrow free; No blush on thy brow, no tear in thine eyes. Dream of my life, my living and burning desire, All hail! Crisis the soul that is now to take fight; All hail! And sweet it is for thee to expire; To die for thy sake, that thou mayââ¬â¢st aspire; And sleep in thy blossom eternityââ¬â¢s long night. If over my grave some day thou seest grow, In the grassy sod, a humble flower, Draw to thy lips and kiss my soul so, While I feel in my brow in the cold tomb below The tough of thy tenderness, thy breathââ¬â¢s warm power. Let the moon beam over me soft and serene, Let the dawn shed over me its radiant flashes, Let the wind sad lament over me keen; And if on my cross a bird should be seen, Let it thrill there is hymn of peace to my aches. Let the sun draw vapos up to the sky, And heavenward in purity bear my tardy protest; Let some kind soul oââ¬â¢er my untimely fate sigh, And in the still evening a prayer be lifted on high From there, O my country, that in God I may rest. Pray for all those that hapless have died, For all who have suffered the unmeasrââ¬â¢d pain; For our mothers that bitterly their woes have cried; For widows and orphans, for captives by torture tried; And then for thyself that redemption thou mayst gain. And when the dark night wraps the graveyard around, With only the dead in their vigil to see; Break not my repose of thy mystery profound, And perchance thou mayst bear a sad hymn resound; ââ¬ËTis I, O my country, raising a song unto thee. When even my grace is remembered no more, Unmarkââ¬â¢d by never a cross not a stone; Let the plow sweep through it, the spade turn it oââ¬â¢er, That my ashes may carpet thy earthly floor, Before into nothingness at last they are blown. Then will oblivion bring me no care, As over thy wales and plains I sweep; Throbbing and cleansed in thy space and air, With color and light, with song and lament I fare, Ever repeating the faith I keep. My fatherland adorââ¬â¢d, that sadness to my sorrow lends, Beloved Filipino, hear now my last goodbye! I give thee all; parents and kindred friends; For I go where no slave before the oppressor bends, Where faith can never kill, and God reigns eââ¬â¢er on high! Farewell to all, from my soul torn away, Friends of my childhood in the home dispossessed! Give thanks that I rest from the wearisome day! Farewell to thee, too, sweet friend that lightened my way; Beloved creatures all, farewell! In death there is rest!

Intelligence Is An Important Factor - 2095 Words
Intelligence can determines what classes you take, what jobs you get, your level of education, your type of lifestyle, your future and etc.â⬠¦ Intelligence is an important factor in our lives but what exactly is it? Intelligence has many different meanings due to different investigators having numerous definitions of it. For example, in a 1921 conference, American psychologists Lewis M. Terman and Edward L. Thorndike contrasted over the definition of intelligence, Terman believed that intelligence was the ability to think abstractly while Thorndike alleged that intelligence was learning and the ability to give good responses to questions (Sternberg, 2014). Overtime, psychologists have been able to come up with a general meaning, which isâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦These dispute first initiated in 1865 with an English scientist, Francis Galton who began studying the correlation on hereditary and success (Behavioral Neuroscience Web Ring Macalester College). Convinced, based o n his evidence, that success and other abilities were mostly based on hereditary factors, he deduced that ââ¬Å"intelligence must be bred and not trainedâ⬠(Wilderdom, 2005). He then opposed those who believed in the environmental effects on intelligence (Behavioral Neuroscience Web Ring Macalester College). For centuries, this debate had no clear conclusion but many theories and hypothesis. Although both the nature and nurture side has find great amount of evidence, it is still undecided which side has more effects in oneââ¬â¢s intelligence. First, the theory about how genes can affect your intelligence can be tested thanks to the birth of monozygotic or identical twins born from the same cell (Behavioral neuroscience Web Ring Macalester College). Because children share 50% of their genes with each of their parents, this then becomes an interesting area of research because they could compare monozygotic twins who share 100 percent of their genes. This is good because they both obtained 50% of their parents genes plus they are identical twins so this gives a great window to research. In
